Sandra "Sandy" Jones Schmidt, 56, of Athens, GA., died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 5, 2010. She was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the daughter of the late Richard Paul Jones and Muriel Yvonne Jones. She moved to Athens, GA. in 1977.
Sandy's skills and talents were many, but none greater than a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She raised two sons, while holding several jobs for the Tanner family and Rich's Department store. On June 23, 1994, she began a career as an Inside Sales Representative for Flowers, Inc., Burton & Burton in Bogart, GA.
Surviving family members include 2 sons, Austin Curtis Schmidt and his wife Jessica Schmidt of Denver, CO. and Christopher Evan Schmidt of Park City, UT. She had one grandson, Sullivan "Sully" Lee Schmidt, born to Austin and Jessica on June 24, 2010.
She is also survived by her brother, Jeffrey P. Jones, Sr. and sister-in-law Kathryn Phebus Jones, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at:
