Samuel Dwite Senter

Samuel D. Senter (age 79), son of Samuel C. and Mary H. Senter, Mouth of Wilson, Virginia died July 7, 2015. His wife, Ann, of 56 years preceded him in death on October 12, 2012. He is survived by his two daughters, Catherine (Timothy) Schowalter of Baton Rouge, LA and Susan McGlohon of Hoschton, GA ; son John Senter of Athens, GA; four grandchildren, Shannon (Jed) Heuberger, Charles (Brittany) McGlohon, Corin (Dave) Hammond, Bradley (Kaila) McGlohon; and three great grandchildren, Jace Robert Heuberger, Ella Rose McGlohon and Summer Belle Hammond.
Dr. Senter was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and the University of Georgia. He served 42 years as a federal employee; two of these with the U.S. Navy, two with the 8th Marines, seven with the Department of the Navy and 31 with the USDA-ARS, Russell Research Center, Athens GA as a Research Scientist.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Friday, July 10, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be with his recently deceased wife, Ann, at the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
