Watkinsville - Samuel Michael Hobbs, 51, died July 27, 2005.
A native of Summerdale, AL, he was a son of Samuel M. and Ann Stallworth Hobbs of Summerdale, AL. He was a resident of Watkinsville, GA for the last three years having moved from Gautier, MS. Mr. Hobbs was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Athens, GA and a member for 22 years of Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Ocean Springs, MS. He was employed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife department in Athens and formerly a Park Ranger, photographer and loved the outdoors.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 3:00 PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until service time. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Winn Cemetery, Summerdale, AL.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Kay Kaemmerer Hobbs; four children, Andrea Hobbs of Raleigh, NC, Emily Hobbs of Columbus, MS, Abby Hobbs and Patrick Hobbs, both of Watkinsville, GA; brother, Bob Hobbs of Jacksonville, FL; maternal grandmother, Ruth Pate Stallworth of Summerdale, AL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Relay for Life, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Christus Victor Lutheran Memorial Fund, or The Nature Conservacy.
