Sammy L. Woods Jr

Sammy L. Woods Jr., 84, of Stephens, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017.
Born in Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late Sammy L. Woods Sr. and Mary Frances Norman Woods. Mr. Woods retired from Chicopee and Synthetic Industries. He enjoyed gospel singing with the Shiloh Gospel Group, hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steve Edward Woods and his sister, Betty Faye Woods.
Survivors include his wife, Eddie Mae Steele Woods; two children, Gale Tyner (Sam) and Kenneth Woods; two brothers, Wallace Woods and James Woods; two sisters, Mary Helen Moody and Martha Bridges; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East. Interment will follow at Pentecost Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pentecost Chapel Cemetery Fund, 389 Stevens Grove Church Road, Lexington, GA 30648.
