Sam H. Maxey

Hull, GA - Sam H. Maxey, age 77, of Hull, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
A native of Athens, Sam was the son of the late John Hodges Maxey and Thelma Carey Maxwell Maxey. He retired from the U.S. Air Force following 20 years of service, and was a member of Hull Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Connie Pierce Maxey; siblings, Grace Chandler, Carolyn Haley, John Maxey, Ronnie Maxey, Linda Peck, and Brenda Maxey; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Lord & Stephens East Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Entombment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hull Baptist Church Building Fund or to Gentiva Hospice.
