Winterville, GA - Ruth Vollrath Whitlow, 85, died December 5, 2009.
Born in Elbert County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Worther Mae Clark Vollrath and was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Morgan Whitlow. She was the oldest of twelve children.
Mrs. Whitlow was retired from Wilkins Industries following 30 years of service. She was a loyal and faithful member of New Covenant Worship Center. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM at New Covenant Worship Center with Revs. Howard Conine and Glenn Vollrath officiating.
Private burial will be at Athens Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Troy Callaway, Jeremy Watts, Clint Whitlow, Alex Edwards, Bryan Barrett and Bill Chrisohon.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Arnold) Callaway of Arnoldsville, Janet (Bill) Chrisohon of Winterville, Bobby (Jenny) Whitlow of Winterville and Deborah (Chet) Edwards of Watkinsville; sisters, Mattie Lou Stovall, Sarah Beauchamp; brothers, James, Paul and Edgar Vollrath; 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and will also be at the residence of Bobby and Jenny Whitlow, 1070 Robert Hardeman Road, Winterville, GA 30683.
Lord and Stephens, EAST is in charge of arrangements.
