Ruth Mae Thrift, born in Warren County October 2, 1927, died August 20, 2016. She was 88 years old.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Carl Thrift; two sons, Jimmy Thrift and wife, Lisa, and John Thrift; two daughters, Gail Walston and husband Mike, Carla Tanner and husband Jeff; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Menda Hall.
Ruth was employed for forty years at the Citizen & Southern/Nations Bank, and was the first drive-thru teller at the C&S in Athens. She was a member of Entre Nous Club, First Baptist Church and Beech Haven Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will follow at Johnson United Methodist Church, Warrenton, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
