Ruth Emily Tewes, 82, wife of the late Edward George Herman Tewes, died Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in College Point, NY, Mrs. Tewes was the daughter of the late Oscar and Martha Herzke Herzog. She worked for the US Government as a Legal secretary and was a realtor in Greensboro, GA and with Realty Executives, Athens, GA. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was an Elderberry and was a member of Sagamore Yacht Club, Oyster Bay, NY.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and David Withrow, Athens; sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Robert Pape, Melville, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lauren Herzog, San Ramon, CA; and grandchildren, Zachary and Caroline Withrow.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 2 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Heitshusen officiating. Burial will be held on Friday at 1 PM at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Hollis, NC. Visitation will be held Wednesday at 7 - 9 PM at the funeral home.
