Ruth (Callaway) Shiner

Ruth Shiner, 87, of Lexington died Sunday, July 19, 2015. Born in Dahlonega to the late Arnold Norman Callaway and Evelyn Garner Callaway. After working in the steel mill industry, Ruth moved to Arkansas where she worked as a chef for Crowe Barnes Resort, making meals for many people, including celebrities.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Shiner, sisters Louise Bray, Shirley Smith, Jet McCannon, and Ruby Korman, and great grandchild Neil Barnett.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Gail Aaron Carlock (Roger), sister Nell Ohler, brother Arnold Calloway Jr. (Linda), grandchildren; Dennis Pugh Sr. (Patti), Norm Pugh (Renee), Ruth Gwendolyn Gail Owens, Cpt. Larry Christopher Pugh (Melody), Josh Grimes (Anna), Tod Carlock (Deanna), Sarah Lowe (Leland), Karl Carlock (Carey), Justin Carlock, Troy Carlock (Carol), great grandchildren; Dennis Pugh Jr. (Tiffany), DeAnna Maria Pugh, Amanda Robbins (Josh), Shelby Pugh, Megan Pugh, Nicki Foster, Maggie Starr (Kyle), Mollie Hicks (Kevin), Tashena Hendricks (Joe Sr.), Niko Fudge, Jessica Mullins (John), Sgt. Cody Barnett (Kelli), Sgt. Cory Barnett (Ramandeep), Courtney Harris (Ray), Bryce Pugh, Savannah Pugh, Sierra Grimes, Bishop Grimes, Marley McCoy, David McCoy, Christian Moon, Jonas Moon, Austin Carlock, Arianna Carlock, Dean Lowe, Breanna Carlock, and Paige Carlock, and great-great grandchildren; Bently Starr, Amiah Fudge, Trevron Hendricks, Nasya Hendricks, Joey Hendricks Jr., Dominic Pugh, Donavin Pugh, Austin Barnett, Persephone Barnett, Gracie Barnett, Lily Barnett, Sean Barnett, Jamie Robbins, and Ansley Hicks.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 12:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time.
