Ruth Bridges, 97, died May 28, 2016.
A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Loudesti Ann Fortson and Lemuel Griff Hicks. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Judson Broughton Bridges and a son, Bobby B. Bridges. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Grady Hicks, Tom Hicks, Gede Hicks, Herman Hicks, Stoy Hicks, Ellis Hicks, Corrie Fair and Lottie Stephens.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will follow at Crawford Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Jan B. (Jimmy) Holloman; grandchildren, Jim (Julie) Holloman, Judson Bridges, Jonathan Bridges, Tami (Charles) Hill; daughter-in-law, Glenda Bridges; great grandchildren, Nolan Holloman, Brinley Holloman, J.C. Holloman, Jordan (Courtney) Brown; George Brown; great-great grandchildren, Broughton Brown, Kole Stafford, Maniya Brown, Jayce Brown, Kendon Brown, Isabelle Bridges and Benjamin Matthew Bridges.
Ruth retired from Jefferson Mills, Inc. after forty years. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her sweetheart, Judson and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, precious mother and truly an angel on earth. She was kind to everyone and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Memorials may be made to Crawford Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
