Russell "Billy" Wills Bowman

Russell Wills “Billy” Bowman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the age of 82.

Born in Winder, he was a son of the late Joe Brown Bowman and Helen Wills Williams. Billy was a Veteran of the United States Marines and was a longtime member of Winterville United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Renee Bowman; sister, Joan Bowman and brother, Jimmy Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 59 ½ years, Gloria Scott Bowman; three sons, Joe Bowman (Maria), Jeff Bowman (Alice Ann) and Jay Bowman (Cynthia); sister, Mary Quinn; nine grandchildren, Hannah Courson (Seth), Josh Bowman (Rebecca), Jeffrey Bowman (Abby), Rachel Phillips (Dustin), Tanner Bowman (Jody), Will Bowman, Jake Bowman, Joe Colley and Caroline Colley; six great-grandchildren, Lilly Courson, Cruz Phillips, Dax Phillips, Tate Phillips, Brynn Bowman and Brooks Bowman.

Memorial services will be Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East with Rev. Tac Coley and Dustin Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Masks are required for both the visitation and memorial service.
