Ruby Cornelia (Self) Hardigree

Ruby Cornelia Self Hardigree, age 79, of Watkinsville passed away peacefully on January 17, 2012.
Mrs. Hardigree was born in Oconee County on July 19, 1932.She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lamar Hardigree of Watkinsville, mother, Gladys Ophelia Self of Watkinsville, and father, James Ira Self of Jacksonville, FL.
Mrs. Hardigree was a lifelong resident of Oconee County and worked at J. C. Penney in Athens and Watkinsville Drugs and Eckerd in Watkinsville. Ms. Ruby loved the people of her community through her spirit of giving. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church.
Mrs. Hardigree is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Charles Osborn; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck & Kathy Hardigree; brother and sister-and-in-law, James and O'Neal Self of Watkinsville; sisters, Frances Taylor, Linda Sue Anderson, and Bobbie Self of Jacksonville, FL and brothers, Bill and Ira Self of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren: Kelli & Tony Powell, Kristi & Justin Greer, Katie & Justin Woodall, and Ben Hardigree; and great-grandchildren: Ali & Leah Powell, Kara & Lane Woodall; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Scott Bartholomew and Dr. Franklin Shumake officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Self, Ronnie Self, Wayne Self, Oran Randall, Walter Lee and Eddie Mills.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 at the funeral home.
