Our sweet mother, Rosie Holland Jett, went to Jesus on Saturday March 8, 2025. Her journey of 95 years was filled with many happy memories. The last four years she had been living at High Shoals Health and Rehab. So many people there blessed her with love and compassion and we truly appreciate you!
Mom was born on January 27, 1930 in Decatur, Alabama. I am so very thankful for her dad and mom, Henry Ward Holland and Eula Lee Brown Holland, for giving her to us. We couldn’t have asked for a better mom!
Mom and Dad married at a young age and remained happily married for 65 years. They had three daughters that learned how to love and care for others because of the example they set. We are very blessed to be their children.
Mom outlived many people in her life and the dearest was the love of her life, Travis Dewitt Jett. Others include her grandson, Travis Joey Powers; her six siblings: Louise Horner, Dorothy West, Myrtle Roberson, Nell Gardner, Vivian Montgomery and Billy Holland. There were also so many other family members that were loved by mom.
Mom worked at a hosiery mill when she was younger She worked hard and became a hairstylist at Peggy’s Beauty Salon in Athens where many of her clients became friends. Mom attended Briarwood Baptist Church for many years. In the last few years and unable to walk, she would still talk about going back to church.
Ones that were left behind on this earth and that are waiting to see her again include her daughters, Vickie Lynn Bouska (Snooks) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Lisa Jett Clay (James) of Watkinsville, GA and Susie Searcy (Kenny) of Watkinsville, GA. Mom’s many grandchildren Lori, Allison, Caitlin, James Robert, Isaac, Eli and Naomi. They will miss her terribly.
Mom would want to thank everyone for being involved in her life and showering her with so much love throughout her journey on this earth.
Mom’s motto always was to be friendly to everyone.
Her work on earth is done but we know without a shadow of doubt that we will see her again one day.
We hold her close in our hearts. Until we see you again- WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!
