Winterville, GA - Rose Sugg Richason, 96, formerly of Centralia, Illinois, went peacefully to be with the Lord on September 17, 2008, with her family by her side.
Rose was born December 6, 1911, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to Edmund Tom "Teddy" and Helen Kate Sugg. She was a member of the orchestra and graduated from Centralia High School in 1930. Rose married Carl "Cap" Richason on June 9, 1934, at First Baptist Church of Centralia.
In 1959, Mrs. Richason moved to Hollywood, Florida, settling in Cooper City in 1969. She was a homemaker with a great affection for her family. She loved dogs and enjoyed handicrafts, crossword puzzles and playing bridge with her many friends. Her family wrote "Rose was a strong and steady lady in a tiny frame. Her recounting of favorite stories, poems and songs will be missed."
Mrs. Richason was preceded in death by her husband in 1990, and her sister, Nellie Konhorst, in 1975.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith "Corky" and Lidia Richason of El Salvador, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Wilhelmene "Willi" and Frank Commander of Big Canoe, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karen Richason of Tamarac, FL; grandchildren, Dara Buczynsky, Amy Martz, Julie Mauck, and Noah Richason, and by 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and, in Centralia, nephew, Tom Konhorst.
A private memorial service will be held at a future date in Cooper City. Memorial gifts in honor of Rose may be made to VistaCare Hospice, 150 Ben Burton Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
