Ronnie Hix

February 19, 1956 — March 2, 2018

Watkinsville - Ronnie Lane Hix, 62, husband of the late Vicki Diane Hix, passed away peacefully March 2, 2018. Mr. Hix was the son of Ruth Pace Hix of Commerce, Ga and the late Hope Hix. Born and raised in the Athens area, he was a graduate of Clarke Central High School and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Greensboro, GA. Ronnie served as the service manager at John Bailey Automotive in Buford, Ga for more than 20 years, and most recently was working as an Agricultural Inspector for the State of Georgia. Ronnie was a long time member of the North Georgia Roping Club and enjoyed spending time competing in team roping competitions in the local area and throughout the southeast. Some of his most cherished friendships were formed at the roping pen and provided him with some of his fondest memories. To anyone who ever had the pleasure of spending anytime with Ronnie would quickly realize he was a kind and caring man who loved life, his family, and his friends and enriched each and every one of our lives immensely. Ronnie is survived by his three sons, Bradley Lane Hix of Bluffton, SC, Jeffrey Allen Hix of Watkinsville and Tyler Stephen Hix of Norcross; brothers: Donnie & Nelda Hix of Florida and Larry & Flo Hix of Colbert, Ga and sister Wanda & Ric Baxter of Monroe, Ga. Friends and family can arrive for viewing starting at 2PM with Funeral services scheduled for 3PM, Sunday, March 4, 2018 Oconee Chapel, 2370 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville, GA with the Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating. Interment will be in Oconee Memorial Park.
