Ronald Barton Rose, 77, of Winterville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in Piedmont-Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia.
Born in Durham, North Carolina on November 7, 1942, he was the son of the late Dr. Jesse Lee Rose and the late Lou Ethel Abernathy Rose Poore. He was of the Catholic, Episcopalian Faith.
Mr. Rose was a graduate of Athens High School and the University of Georgia Forestry School. He was veteran of the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. He was the owner of Rose Television Service in Winterville, Georgia.
On May 13th, he and his wife, Anne Berrong Rose would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. His other survivors include daughter, Leigh Rose McRae (David); son, Ridge Rose; grandson, Jameson Chandler McRae; brother, Thomas McMillan Rose (Toshi).
The family will be eternally grateful to Dr. Parker Grow, Dr. Ham McGill, Dr. James Miller, Dr. Murphy, Dr. David Woodard, all past and present members and staff of Athens Cardiology, Piedmont-Athens Regional Hospital, Jim Gray, Dr. H. Phillip Morris and Dr. Eva Katherine (Katie) Moore.
All of these people have worked so hard to give him 13 ½ wonderful years of life after a massive heart attack that he should not have survived. Ronnie was their miracle! They are our heroes!
According to Mr. Rose’s wishes, his body was cremated and will be interred at a later date.
