Winterville - Ronald Eugene Jones, 67, passed away January 15, 2008.
A native of Meridian, Mississippi, he was a son of the late S.E. Jones and Mary Jane Brantley, and stepson of Randolph Brantley. He was employed at Jasper Motors, Ridgeland, SC for many years as well as Beaufort Motors, Beaufort, SC. While living in Athens he worked several years with Athens Motors and Athens Marine. Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing, gardening and had a genuine love of the outdoors and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Sauls Chapel, Ridgeland, SC. Interment will be in Grahamville Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Virginia G. Jones of Winterville; four children, Chad (Nikki) Jones of Sumter, SC, Diane (Jim) Eller of Hayesville, NC, Dennis (Anne) Luckey of Athens and Dale (Amy) Luckey of Watkinsville; siblings, George S. (Barbara Jean) Jones of Bluffton, SC and Kerry Bates of Jackson, MS; seven beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Janie Hart, Lauren, Graham, Dixie, Chad and Patrick; nieces and nephews, and a host of close friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
