Roger "Hard Times" Thornton, 64, died May 7, 2010.
A native of Bogart, GA, he was a son of the late Garnett and Marian Williams Thornton Ewing and the widower of Georgia Sherry Watson Thornton. He was also preceded in death by a son Gregory D. Thornton.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his mother Marian Williams Thornton Ewing of Lula, three children, Richard Eric Thornton of Bogart, Stacey L. Thornton of Bogart, and Jennifer Thornton Haley of Athens brother, Warren Larry Thornton of Lula; sisters, Ann Thornton Brown of Braselton and Susan Thornton Thomas of Lula; seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
