Beloved husband, father, and grandpa, Roger Stanley Fiero, went to be with the Lord on July 27th, 2024 at the age of 81.
Roger was probably most known for being a jokester, of very mediocre quality, “What's a Henway??” His greatest love though, was the Lord Jesus, and spending time with saints in the local churches: in the meetings, serving in the book room, enjoying meals together, or distributing bibles while driving the motor home with Bibles For America. In 1977 he was part of the crew that built the Church in Atlanta's Meeting Hall (was that why the roof leaked?). He also served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Roger is survived by his beautiful wife of 53 years, Elsa, and his three daughters, who may have inherited his sense of humor but thankfully not his looks: Missy Crane “the Princess” (son-in-law, Tom), Allison Loetscher “Shaboogamoo” (son-in-law, Andy), and Amanda Landry “the Brat” (son-in-law, Brit). His nine grandchildren brought him so much joy, he was always happy to share his favorite butter pecan ice cream with them: Jeannie, Jacob, Jaleah, Suzanna, Britton, Penelope, Ashton, Colton and Charleston. We will honor his legacy by repeating bad dad jokes for all to enjoy.
A memorial meeting will be held on Sunday, August 18th, from 3 to 5pm, at the Student Station: 249 Waddell St, Athens, GA 30605.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bibles for America, PO Box 17537, Irvine, CA 92623, or at biblesforamerica.org; or to the Abbey Hospice Foundation, PO Box 68, Social Circle, GA 30025.
