Roderic "Ric" Russ Dugger, III's earthly battle with ALS ended on August 25, 2014. He was 66. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Armistead Dugger and brother, William "Bill" Dugger. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as an Ordnance Officer and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. He retired from the Institute of Government at Florida State University. He was actively involved in Good News Outreach, Fuller Center for Housing, and many other Christian groups whose purpose was to show the love of Christ by serving and helping others. He leaves a legacy of serving others above himself that was consistent to the call of the Christian faith he held tight to.
Funeral Services will be held Monday September 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Faith Presbyterian Church in Watkinsville, Georgia, with Rev's Bob McAndrew and Steven Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday at 1:00 pm prior to service time. The interment will be at Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include: Wife of 43 years, Deborah Dugger; father, Roderic Russ Dugger; daughters, Kelly (Rev. Steven) Brooks and Melissa (Eric) Weaver; Sister, April (Daniel) Penton; brother, Michael (Karon) Dugger; sister, Dawn (Eddie) Long; sister in law, Donna Dugger; grandchildren, Emily, Micah, Carter, Brooke and Nolan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
