Athens - Robert H. Wages, Jr., 82, died March 31, 2007.
A native of Clarke County, Ga., he was a son of the late Mary Catherine O'Kelley and Robert. H. Wages, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II, and retired from Reliance Electric after more than twenty years of employment. Mr. Wages was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Nascar fan.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Pastor Donna Arrowood officiating. Interment will be in Bethaven Cemetery, Nowhere Road, Athens.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sara Stewart Wages; five children, Elaine Wages Rousey, of Cornelia, Ga., Catherine Wages Smith and husband, Jimmy, of Eatonton, Ga., Darrel L. Wages and wife, Beth, of Colbert, Donna Wages Fields and husband, Greg, of Athens, Melissa Wages Lewis and husband, Rick, of Nicholson; three siblings, Paul Wages and wife, Sherry, of Athens, Betty Marcus and husband, Charlie, of Hull, Doyle Wages and wife, Barbara ,of Danielsville; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Archer, Larry Wages, Lamar Wages, Wayne Mize, Greg Wages, Curtis Couch, Tommy Patton, and Gale Slay.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
