Born in Hinsdale, IL, he graduated from Asheville School, Asheville, NC and Harvard University. He worked at Hinsdale Federal Bank after leaving the U.S. Army, before moving to Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily and is survived by his sister, Ellen Maxwell; niece Ellen M. Robb; nephew Allyn D. Robb and other nieces and nephews.
