Athens - Robert Tate Vaughter, 67, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at his residence.
Born in Elbert County, he was the son of the late Albert Tate and Gussie Maxwell Vaughter. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Jeffery Vaughter and sister, Bette Ann Vaughter.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law Kenneth Alan and Susan Vaughter of Iva, SC; daughter, Teresa Vaughter Rosencrantz of Beaufort, SC; sisters, Barbara Vaughter Kay of Elberton, Susan Vaughter Jordan of Toccoa; brothers, Richard Emmett Vaughter of Hull, Alan Clark Vaughter of Elberton; grandchildren, Brooks Vaughter, Kasey Vaughter, Hunter Vaughter and Joseph Rhodes; great granddaughter, Madison Martin.
Funeral services will be private.
