Athens, GA - Robert Paul Robinson, 75, died July 4, 2011.
Formerly of Petersburg, Ohio, he was a son of the late Wilford and Elma Grunden Robinson and was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lisa Robinson.
Mr. Robinson lived in Athens for the last twenty-five years and was a founder of the Athens Heritage Lions Club, as well as Past District Governor of the Lions Club. He retired from the University of Georgia as the Building Maintenance Supervisor. Mr. Robinson was a lifelong member of Knights of Pythias and a member of the Council of the Blind.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Thyra Robinson; five children, Pauline LaCount of Athens, Scott (Carol) Robinson of Conover, NC, Diane (Ben) Weiss of Nicholson, Melinda LaCount of Nashville, TN; Michael Robinson of Camden, Delaware; sister, Beverly (Joe) McMurray of Thomasville; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM.
