Robert Ernest McClure Jr

Robert Ernest McClure, Jr., 88, husband of Faye Webb McClure, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Born in Macon, he was the son of the late Robert Ernest McClure, Sr. and Edith Christine Mitchell McClure. Ernest served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He retired from Georgia Power as a Division Accounting Manager after 40 years and was a member of Athens First United Methodist Church. Survivors in addition to his wife include three children: Robert Ernest (Shelia) McClure, III of Suwanee, Chris L. (Kelley) McClure of Nicholson and Merrie McClure Wallace of Lake Spivey, GA; grandchildren: Robert Judson McClure, Hannah McClure, Ellen McClure, Andrew McClure and Catie Wallace and one sister: Gloria (Georges) Bignault of Jasper, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1PM at Athens First United Methodist Church with Rev. Martha Aenchbacher officiating. Interment will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Friday, June 2, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 3343 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30326.
