Robert “Bob” Alan McCannon, 58, a life-long resident of Madison County, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.
Bob was proceeded in death by his mother, Addie B. McCannon, and his father, Paul Felix McCannon.
Bob is survived by his brother, Tim McCannon, children, Kimberly (Josh) Medina, Cole McCannon, and Chase McCannon, and grandchildren, Zachary, Brooklyn, and Madisyn and former wife, Karen (Cobb) McCannon, aunt and uncle Gerald and Daisy McCannon and aunt, Dorothy Gordon, and many other extended family members.
Bob was born on August 31, 1963 to Paul and Addie McCannon. He graduated from Madison County High School. He was a 1986 graduate of the University of Georgia and avid Bulldog fan. Bob was a member of Riverside Baptist Church where he enjoyed praise and worship, Small Group Bible Study and working in the kitchen. He was once a member of the Lions Club and held the offices of Secretary, Vice President, and President and served as a Comer City Councilman in the 90’s. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time watching sports with his children, playing with his grandchildren and traveling. Bob was a self-employed vendor with Pepperidge Farms Bread where he took his son, Cole, under his wings and showed him how to run a business.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made In Memory of Bob to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, March 15 from 6 – 8 pm at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home in Danielsville, GA. A service of celebration will be held Wednesday, March 16 at 11 am at Riverside Baptist Church in Colbert, GA.
