Comer, GA - Robert Lee Morgan, 76, retired Navy pilot and farmer, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Eisenhower Medical Center at Fort Gordon.
Born in Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Ollie Morgan. He graduated from Oglethorpe County High School where he was president of his senior class and attended South Georgia College in Douglas, where he played basketball.
He was a recipient of the Medal of Honor.
Survivors include former wives, Linda E. Morgan and Nancy D. Morgan; sister, Carole D. Morgan; daughter, Tracey M. Lane; son, Lloyd D. Morgan; daughter, Lori M. Edwards; son in law, Danny Edwards; son in law, David Winter; daughter in law, Jennifer Winter; grandchildren, Alicia Ferrell (Dan), Fawntane Shepherd (Roger), Bruce Smith, Brandon Bentley, Brent Bentley, Samantha, Kayleigh and Alexandra Winter; great grandchildren, Landon, Kennedy and Kaydance Shepherd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Comer, GA.
No viewing or public services are planned.
