Robert Neil Lackey

Bob Lackey, 82, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA on March 10. He was born in Dozier, AL to James Marvin and Avis Meredith Lackey. He attended Valley High School in Valley, AL, where he met his wife, Ann Lamb. He earned a BS in Accounting at Auburn University in 1958 and worked as a corporate accountant for West Point Pepperrell and Dan River Inc. Two younger brothers, Bill and Jim Lackey, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Sunday, March 20, at 3 PM at St. James UMC in Athens. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. A graveside service conducted by the Reverend Perry Duffey will be held at Fairfax Cemetery in Valley, AL on Monday, March 21, at 2 PM.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years; two daughters, Laura Alderson (Bob) of Turin, Italy and Leah Goodwin of Athens; and three grandchildren, Sara Alderson of Turin, Amelia Goodwin and Abel Goodwin of Athens.
