Robert J. "Bob" Wilson

Robert J. Wilson of 136 Woodhaven Circle, Athens, GA, passed away, March 17, 2015. He was born in Dyersburg, TN and later moved to Chicago. He graduated from DeVry College with a degree in Design Engineering. He was in sales with Kabar Manufacturing Co. located in NY. He served in the US Marines for 2 years and attended Athens First United Methodist Church. Bob had a very creative mind and has several patents on his inventions. Some were used by companies where he was employed. He loved flying and owned a Commanche and was a member of the Commanche Society. Survivors include his wife Beth Wilson, sisters: Barbara Marshment; son: Mark Wilson; daughter and son in law: Nancy and Terry Holcombe: step-sons: Tony Gamblin and Alan Gamblin and his wife Karen; four grandchildren, five step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Winder, GA. Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
