Crawford - Robert O. Huff Sr., 73, died Thursday, September 3, 2009, at his residence.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Washington, Ga., with Father Chris Williamson and Father Phillip Ryan as celebrants. Burial will follow in Crawford City Cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Over the Hill Gang.
A native of Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late James C. Huff Sr. and Novie Wilkes Huff. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James C. Huff Jr. Mr. Huff was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Washington, Ga., was retired from Processing Specialists, was an avid gardener and the founding member of the Over The Hill Gang.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Nelms Huff; children and their spouses, Robert O. (Daphna) Huff Jr. of Lexington, Dr. Robin Huff (Mike) Doker of Winterville and Kim Huff (Haven) Wheless of Crawford; grandchildren, Jonathon (Shalon) Huff, D.J. Huff, Natalie Doker, Bo Doker and Sergio Torres; and one great-grandson, Luke Huff.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 4, 2009, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1011 N. Bypass, Washington, GA 30673.
