Mr. Robert S. Harvey, age 87, passed away, Sunday, September 3, 2006, at the Kindred Hospital of Atlanta.
He was born in Oconee County on May 3, 1919 to the late William J. and Alma Harrison Harvey. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Harvey ; three sisters, and four brothers. He was a Member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He was a US Army World War II Veteran and served as a Medic during the war. During his life he worked as a farmer, Westclox Corp., and worked twenty years for the J Phil Campbell Sr. Natural Resource Conservation Center.
Survivors include his two children and their spouses; Walter and Audrey Harvey , and Jeri and Donnie Merritt of Watkinsville. A sister; Florine Ward of Madison, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 11 AM in the chapel of Lord and Stephens-West with the Rev. Charles Giles officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens-West is in charge of the arrangements.
