Commerce - Robert Franklin Hankins, 59, died June 27, 2007 while traveling with his wife, Betty.
Born in Greene County, he was the son of the late Roy L. Hankins and Eva Belle Center Yearwood. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greensboro, GA. After graduating from Greene County High School, he became a member of a band with lifelong friends and was a very talented musician. He was a retired truck driver. Robert was very happily married to his soul mate, Betty Werner, for 3 ? years where they lived in Ila.
Bob was loved by anyone who came to know him. His smile would warm your day and his caring ways would let you know he loved you. He was not a materialistic person, loving the simple beauty of God's World.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Briarwood Baptist Church with Revs. Howard Conine, Paul Glass and Michael Pritchett officiating.
Survivors include a half brother, Charles H. Crumbley, Jr. and sister-in-law Beth of Watkinsville; sister in law, Elaine Hankins; nieces and nephews, Eve Elaine Pull and nephew-in-law Nigel, and their daughter Vivian; Libby Griffeth and nephew-in-law Jeff and their son, Joseph; Haywood Crumbley and niece-in-law Diana and their children Chase and Jill; and Curtis Crumbley and a large number of friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
