Robert Garmon

Robert Garmon, 84, died February 7, 2015.
A native of Hiram, GA, he was a son of the late Fred Lee and Ovie Lee Parsons Garmon and was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Buster and Margaret Garmon, and sister and brother-in-law, Jennie Pearl and Ralph Holcomb.
Mr. Garmon graduated from Georgia School for the Deaf where he was the State Champion in the High Jump. He retired from the United States Postal Service after twenty-two years.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00PM. Interment will follow at Johnson United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Martha Maxey Garmon; three children, Cindy (Travis) Bray, Bogart, Kent (Kim) Garmon of Carrollton, Fred (Laura) Garmon of Loganville; sister, Carolyn Balliew of McDonough; brother, Jerry (Jerry Faye) Garmon of Douglasville; eight grandchildren, Chastity (Robert) Shepherd of Bogart, Christina Bray of Bogart, Brian (Nichole) Bray of Bishop, Layla (Kerry) Lapard, Kent (fiancé, Jenn Poor), Miranda Garmon, all of Carrollton, Alex Garmon and Kristen, both of Loganville; nine great grandchildren.
