Athens, GA - Robert (Bob) Henry Evans, 78, died at his residence, January 1, 2010.
A native of Clarke County, he was the son of the late John Coleman and Ina Stone Evans. Mr. Evans was an avid golfer and Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a charter member and past president of Green Hills Country Club and a longtime member and trustee of Temple United Methodist Church. Mr. Evans was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired from Armstrong and Dobbs.
Memorial services will be Monday, January 4, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Temple United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathleen Deegan-Neal officiating.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Parrott Evans; daughters, Lynn Siemion (Ed) and Lisa Evans, all of Athens; grandchildren, Blake Duncan, Morganne Duncan, Katie Siemion and Bert Siemion; 3 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice Services (for charity care), PO Box 6588 Athens, GA 30604 or to Temple United Methodist Church Building/Educational Fund, 2467 Wire Bridge Road, Arnoldsville, GA 30619.
