Lexington, GA - Robert Cecil Johnson, III, 50, died Sunday, July 17, 2011.

He was born in Bethesda Naval Hospital, November 13, 1960 to Robert C. Johnson, Jr. and Joyce Woody Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, R. Cecil Johnson and L.E. Colquitt Johnson of Lexington, Paul C. Woody and Nelle Fullbright Woody of Spruce Pine, NC and by his uncle Barry D. Johnson. Being in a Navy family he grew up in Charleston, SC, Newport, RI, Virginia (Falls Church and Virginia Beach). He graduated from Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach and from the University of Georgia with an degree in Fine Arts Management. He helped establish the county art center in Swainsboro, GA and worked as an event planner for the Southern Arts Federation in Atlanta.

He is survived by his parents and his sister, Whitney Rearick and her husband David and their children, Trenton Rearick and Katheryn Rearick. Also survived by his aunts, Geraldine (Johnny) Bridges, Sheila Siffri and Marion Johnson and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 7:30PM at Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. David Johnston officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 prior to the service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
