Winterville - Robert Arnold (Bob) Carson, 80, passed away Thursday, February 07, 2008.
A native of Clarke County, he was the son of the late Calvin A. and Maude Belle Cheatham Carson and the husband of Mary Olive Carson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin A. Carson and Marion E. Carson. Mr. Carson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, owned and operated Carson's Barber Shop, a member of Athens Masonic Lodge and a member of Watkinsville Christian Church.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008. in Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. David Gibson officiating.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters and spouse, Robin and George Wilkes of Winterville, Jane and Douglas Gurley of Athens; sister, Barbara Mallon of Athens; five grandchildren, Kimberly McCreary, Jennifer Gibson, Denice Nelms, Gwendolyn Gurley and Russell Gurley.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 thru 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
