Robert H. Bohler

March 14, 1919 — March 11, 2014

Robert Henry Bohler was born in Marshallville, Georgia on March 14, 1919, the oldest of four children. He attended Berry High School and College before being drafted during WWII. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and enjoyed a long and successful career at Georgia Power Company in Atlanta.
While on military leave, he was introduced by an Aunt to the love of his life, Ann Wolfe. They were married in 1946, and settled in Decatur, Ga. He was a faithful and devoted husband who loved to spend time with his family. Robert could build or repair anything and used his engineering skills to build a house for the family on Lake Burton. He loved to fish and enjoyed the time he spent there with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, teaching them all the art of fishing.
He was a true gentleman. Quiet and humble, he was full of character and integrity. He loved his wife and doted on his children and grandchildren. He was intelligent and active, playing tennis until he was 85. He was "Papa" to his grandchildren and a good friend to many. Today, Friday, March 14, he would have been 95 years of age.
He is survived by his son and wife Robert (Bob) H. Bohler, Jr. and Kim Bohler of Athens; daughter and husband, Vicki Bohler and Andrew Gross of Athens; grandchildren Robert and John Bohler, and Anna and Philip Gross, and many loving nieces and nephews.
