Gene Barker, age 80 died Monday, October 13, 2104. He was born December 10, 1933 to the late Joe Palmer Barker and Mary Lizzie Davis Barker. He was preceded in death by siblings, Bessie Barker Hanson, Willie Joe Barker and Lewis Barker. He is survived by his wife, Esther Allred Barker, Son Robert Barker, Jr., daughter in law, Debbie O. Barker, and granddaughter Olivia barker, special nieces, Joan Hicks and husband Danny Hicks and Linda Mattingly and Husband Jim Mattingly.
Gene graduated from Byron High School, served in the U.S. Army and retired from Robins Air Force Base.
The family will receive friends at his home anytime Thursday, October 16, 2014 after noon. There will be a private memorial service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ashford Memorial Methodist Church, Watkinsville, GA or Powersville United Methodist Church, Powersville, GA.
