Watkinsville, Georgia

The precious soul of Robbi Anne Van Schoick left its earthly home on October 15, 2024. Robbi was born in Lubbock, Texas on November 3, 1979. Other than her beloved home state she also lived in New Jersey, Tennessee and France, where she fell in love with the culture and language. She graduated high school in Texas, attended SMU in Dallas for three years and received both her B.S. in Psychology and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Georgia.

Robbi is survived a by her parents Bob and Nelda Van Schoick of Watkinsville, her sister and brother-in-law Katie and Kyle Kilch and her three much adored nieces Annie, Caroline and Eliza Kilch.

Despite many challenges, Robbi never let her health define her. She loved being involved throughout college and the many years after with her Gamma Phi Beta sorority sisters and her fellow classmates. At UGA she made numerous presentations about her journey with a rare disease and was an Ambassador for the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance. For 11 years she co-taught a UGA Odyssey class for freshman on communicating with people who have disabilities. Her last big project was writing a children’s book entitled Becca Smart and Strong, which she dedicated to the memory of her younger sister Becca. Robbi loved her friends, her family, her childhood horse Chipper and her very special dog Daphne, who was her constant companion. Robbi and her inspiring courageous spirit will be missed.

A Service of Witness to the Resurrection & Thanksgiving for the Life of Robbi Van Schoick will take place Monday, October 21st at 2:00 pm at Shallowford Presbyterian Church, 2375 Shallowford Road, Atlanta, with a reception to follow in the Great Hall. *Family to meet in the Heritage Hall 1:30
