Rita Teat Cooper

Rita Teat Cooper, 67, of Athens, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017.
Born in Goldsboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Belton Teat and Lois Tanksley Teat. Mrs. Cooper loved her children and grandchildren. She was employed with AT&T for many years, and later went to work for Belk.
Survivors include her children, Kelly Cooper and Jon "Derek" Cooper; siblings, Colleen Ginn, Audrey Thomas and Jeanette Drake; grandchildren, Macey Harrelson, Brooke Harrelson, Kasey Colley, Lexi Cooper, Sierra Cooper, Deven Cooper and Kailey Cooper and great grandchildren, Paxton, Zaedy and Charlie.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
