Rita "Meme" Nell Cook

Rita "Meme" Cook passed away July 26, 2017 suddenly at the age of 55.
Rita was born June 5, 1962 to the late Quilla Ardel Graham Sr. and Annie Ruth (Allen) Graham. Born in Athens, she lived most of her life in Madison County, GA. where she attended Madison County High School. She worked the last 17 years at Comar, where she had recently been promoted.
Rita is survived by: mother Annie Ruth (Allen) Graham, Hull, GA., husband of 37 years Mitchel Cook Sr, Homer, GA., son Mitchel Cook Jr. and daughter in law Amber Cook, Colbert, GA., two grandchildren: Gracie Faith Cook and Cooper James Cook, Colbert, GA., daughter Mandy Allmon and son in law Austin Allmon, Bogart, GA., 3 brothers and 3 sisters, all from Madison County and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rita's greatest passions in life were her grandbabies, (she was, and will always be, the best Meme ever), her children, and her husband.
She was a lover of life and enjoyed making people laugh, while always being ready for a good laugh herself. There was a certain light that shined from Rita which made people take to her quickly. Her personality was one that just seemed to draw others in. When she would hug you, it was with her whole being. There was nothing quite like it and those hugs and laughs will be dearly missed.
Rita was willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. She was a lady who worked hard her whole life and made sure that her family was well taken care of.
Even though Heaven gained an amazing angel, those left here on earth mourn such a great loss. She will be thought of often throughout each day that remains for her family and friends. Her smile, hugs, and laughter will live on in their hearts. Many tears have, and will be shed, but I can hear her telling all of us to suck it up because we have a lot of living left to do and she is resting peacefully in Heaven, where the streets are gold and the sky is always blue.
