Dr. Rick Campbell, age 46 of Athens, GA went to be with his Lord, Thursday, January 6, 2011.
Born in Baltimore Maryland, Rick was the son of Richard E. and Ann Miller Campbell of Apex, NC and was married to Deborah Grimes Campbell, his wife of 24 years. He received his Doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary and was also a graduate of Lee University and Southeastern Theological Seminary-Wake Forrest where he received his Masters of Divinity. He was a member of Watkinsville First Baptist Church.
Rick served as the President & CEO of INJOY Stewardship Solutions (ISS). Over the past 8 years with ISS, he has worked with over 150 pastors and churches, and his leadership has influenced thousands of leaders across the country as well as other countries. With a deep, abiding passion for pastors, churches, and generosity, his skill, experience, and giftedness made him a perfect fit for his national leadership role. Prior to his leadership at ISS, Rick led two church plants and served in the role of senior pastor over a 17-year period. In addition, Rick served on the Board of Directors for Bethel Haven Child and Youth Ministries.
Survivors in addition to his parents and wife include his two daughters: Ashley and Sarah Campbell; sisters: Carol Henning of Apex, NC and Sharon Newton of Cary, NC.
Funeral services will be held, Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 3PM at Watkinsville First Baptist Church with Rev. Carlos Sibley and Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethel Haven Child and Youth Services, 1020 Barber Creek Drive Suite 313, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
The family will receive friends, tonight, January 8, 2011 from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
