Colbert - Richard Lee Hoyt, Sr., 71, died March 1, 2006 at Decatur VA Medical Center.
Born in Union Point, GA, he was the son of the late Mack Buford and Gladys Mae Hoyt. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anne Giles and son Wayne Hoyt. He had attended Joy Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Army.
Survivors include his wife, Sophia Joyce Hoyt; sons, Ricky Hoyt, Donald Hoyt, John Hoyt; daughters, Teresa Funderburk, Cynthia Stevens; sister, Willie Conner; brothers, Robert and William Edward Hoyt, 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4 at 1PM at Joy Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Black officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
