Richard Charles Holloman, Sr, 84, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 17, 2011, with his loving wife of 60 years and all five of his children gathered at his Athens residence.
Born in Columbus, GA, he was the son of the late Alvah Lee and Hattie Leona Everidge Holloman. He retired after 20 years in the US Air Force and 17 years civil service as a communications specialist, with service in Germany, Korea, Turkey, Okinawa, and several stateside bases.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Brown Clark Holloman, children, R. C. Holloman, Jr. of Athens, Theresa (Wayne) Holloman Tuck of Birmingham, AL, Kathryn Holloman Adams of Grayson, GA, Clark Edward (Deborah) Holloman, Sr. of Roswell, GA, Cristi Ann (Robert) Diamond of Warner Robins, GA, sister Carol Martin of Macon, GA, 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 19 from 7 to 9 pm at Lord & Stephens West Chapel funeral home at 1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd., Bogart, GA. Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at 1PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1080 Julian Drive, Watkinsville, GA. Graveside services will follow at 5PM at Holley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 3308 Pulliam Mill Road, Bowman, GA 30624.
