Richard Moretz Dailey of Danielsville GA died September 24, 2023, at age 93.

Mr. “Dick” Dailey was a graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg VA and an active member of Epiphany United Methodist Church in Vienna VA and Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Huntsville AL. While living in Georgia, he attended Danielsville United Methodist Church. He volunteered in many community organizations wherever his family lived. Mr. Dailey was a lifelong student who loved baseball, gardening, and traveling. In their 65+ years of marriage, they lived in New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio, New York, Alabama, D.C. area, and retired to Huntsville in 1985. He and his wife enjoyed a 29-year association with International Business Machines (IBM). They worked with many IBM friends in the Apollo Saturn program that put Neil Armstrong on the moon on July 20, 1969. Survivors include two daughters, Kathi Dailey Morgan (David) of Danielsville GA, and Kim Erin Jackley of Lavonia GA, and one son James Richard Dailey (Laura) of Huntsville AL, daughter-in-law Debbie K. Dailey of Madison AL, and sister-in-law Dolores Dewitt of Manahawkin NJ.

He was pre-deceased by his wife Rosemary DeWitt Dailey, son Thomas John Dailey, brother Hampton J. Dailey and sister-in-law Shirley Dailey, brother-in-law John W. Dewitt, Jr. of NJ and sister-in-law, Glenda Parrish Dailey. There are 10 Grandchildren: Naomi Rose Haney (Skye), Michael Robert Stoupa (Ashley), Alan Charles Stoupa, Meghan Elizabeth Dailey Murdock (Lance), Zachary Thomas Dailey, Anna Mae Dailey Sullens (Tyler), Natalie Rose Dailey, Malorie LaShell Smith Orme (Jason), Jennifer and Chris North, and Aundrea Geibler There are 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 6 nieces, and 1 nephew. He’s also survived by Becky Dailey Dobbs and LaShell Smith Dailey Watson who were both special people in his life. His family would like to thank all his exceptional caregivers at Family Hospice of Athens GA and at The Gables at Cobb Village in Royston GA.
