Rex Ervin McGough, Jr.

Rex Ervin McGough, Jr., a Christian who dearly loved the Lord, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the age of 69.

He was the son of the late Rex and Mary (Howe) McGough Sr. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Robert, Gary, and David McGough, as well as sisters Kathy Davis and Lee Ann Lapsky.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Tessier McGough; children Rachael (Chad) Trotter and Timothy (Mandy) McGough; granddaughters Rainn Trotter, Kathryn McGough, and Cora McGough; sisters Darlene (Dennis) Gibson and Peggy Kilburn; and many nieces and nephews.

Raised in Massachusetts, Rex settled in Athens, GA in 1982. He retired from UGA as an electronics technician. Rex was also a very talented woodworker.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 24, at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chosen for Life, 1800 Hog Mountain Rd., Bldg. 700-101, Watkinsville, GA 30677 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to your favorite organization.
