Rebecca Moon Paul

Rebecca Moon Paul, age 88, daughter of the late John B Moon and Minnie Hancock Moon, of Carlton passed away Wednesday evening, March 14, 2012, surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her sisters Martha McPhearson, Lucy Slappy, Lizzie Miller, Janie Sorrow, and brother John Thomas Moon.
"Beck", as she was known by all who loved her, was a lifetime resident of Oglethorpe County, graduating from Meson Academy in 1942. She worked for Westclox for many years until her retirement. She spent her retirement years caring for her home, spending time with her family, and teaching her grandchildren life's lessons. She was a long standing member of Glade Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William J "Skeets" Paul of Carlton; sisters Eullaia Bennett of Bowman; Clara Seymour of Comer; Betty Jean Waters of Comer; and a brother Richard Moon of Fayetteville; son Ryan B Paul and wife Janet of Crawford; grandson Nathan Paul; granddaughters Sarah and Hannah Paul; and a great-grandson Ethan Ryan Paul as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, 4355 Lexington Road, Athens is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, at Glade Baptist Church with Pastors David Burt and Derek Paul officiating. Burial will be held at the church cemetery.
