Athens - Raymond Eugene Scoggins, 75, died on September 2, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Raymond was born in Union, SC on June 30, 1933 to the late Lindsey Lee and Florence Penland Scoggins. Raymond and his late mother moved to Athens, 16 years ago from Union to make their home with his sister Dolly S. Moore.
As a friend to everyone, he was especially adored by his many nieces and nephews, but always said that Mary Garrison was his favorite niece.
Survivors include his sisters: Dolly S. Moore and Betty S. Dantzler, both of Athens, GA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clint A. Scoggins.
A memorial service is planned for 10AM, Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Campus View Church of Christ where he was a long time member.
