Athens - Ray Thrasher, 56, died June 23, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born in Clarke County, he was the son of the late Marion Ray Thrasher Sr. and Hazel Gearing. He had been working as a driver and inventory controller for McLane South East for 24 years. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby N. Wilson-Daniel-Thrasher; sons, David Thrasher of Clemson, S.C., Michael Thrasher of North Augusta, S.C., Doug Daniel of Statham, Keith Daniel of Athens, M. Steven McGinness of Iowa, Michael Edwards of Hartwell, S.C.; daughter, Denise Daniel Carter of Bogart; brothers, Donnie Parker of Ball Ground, Vince Thrasher of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Connie Mashburn of Athens, Jean Stewart of Blairsville; aunts and uncle, Mary Ann Thrasher of Athens, Duke and Susan Thrasher of Warner Robins; 18 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 1PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Lee Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Willie Wise, Thomas Allen, Nolan Daniel, Devon Carter, Dalton Carter and Victor Hardman. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted.
