Randy Johnson, 56 of The Sandy Cross Community of Lexington was born July 27, 1958, passed away July 25, 2015. He was the son of the late, Jimmy and Betty Drake Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a Masonic Member.
Memorial Services are Tuesday, July 28, 2015 7:00PM at Lord & Stephens, East Chapel with visitation 5:00 to 7:00 same day as the service and Rev. Jonah Simmons officiating.
Survivors include: Wife, Joyce Johnson; daughters, Andrea (Jason) Barnett, Wendy Johnson and Sara Johnson and fiancé, Christopher Hudson; step children, Joseph and Christopher Dickens; brothers, Stanley Johnson, Jody Johnson and Jeffrey Johnson; grandchildren, Sean Barnett and Lucas Johnson; nephew, Cody Johnson. Randy adored and cherished his family.
Randy graduated from Oglethorpe County High School and spent some time at UGA Grady School of Journalism. He was currently employed at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, previous employers included DuPont, Nakanishi Manufacturing Co., Caterpillar, Chalmers and Kubeck South.
Randy enjoyed woodworking, going to flea markets with his wife, antiquing and spending time with his girls and grandsons. He spent many weekends taking trips to the mountains and working in his garden. He was a master at cooking boiled peanuts... . The girls favorite !!!
Randy loved all things to do with music. He enjoyed playing his banjo and listening to bluegrass music. He played many instruments including a banjo, guitar, harmonica, fiddle and mandolin.
